The Hungarian restaurant responsible for Amy's tragedy failed to hold Public Liability Insurance. Funds raised by The Amy May Trust and donations received contribute to Amy's lifelong needs, a monthly cost necessary for Amy's comfort. Amy's rehabilitation and support were the founding reasons for the formation of The Amy May Trust and remain integral to this day.
Rehabilitation
To any patient with a brain injury, rehabilitation in the form of physiotherapy and speech and language therapy is a necessity. These weekly activities help improve the simply ability to function, treat mental and physical problems and provide social and emotional support.
Therapies also prevent complications such as blood clots, pain, pressure, ulcers, pneumonia, issues with blood pressure and muscle spasm. All of which causes great anxiety, pain and discomfort to Amy when treatment can’t be given.
Care & support
Funds also provide equipment and specialist therapy apparatus which can be used in the home environment.
Travel
One of the first and most valuable purchases The Trust was able to purchase once Amy had left the hospital system was a car. Your incredible, generous donations allowed us to purchase the ‘Amymobile’ which we had generously decorated with The Trust livery. This has allowed Amy to travel to her therapies, without which she would not have progressed to where she is today.
Fuel and travel costs are always met personally.
