December at The Trust

As we speed through the first month of this new year, we say thank you for the support and enthusiasm shown to The Amy May Trust in the run up to the Christmas festivities. Special mentions go to the Inner Wheel Club of Rayleigh Mill for the Party Night that they arranged, and enormous thanks to Wheelz, the band who not only donated their time to entertain but themselves very generosity contributed to the fundraising on the evening. As Sally Fairweather from the Inner Wheel tells us:

On 10th December the Inner Wheel Club of Rayleigh Mill organised a fund raising Christmas party night at Ashingdon Village Hall. The evening was a great success with the guests enjoying a fish and chip supper and dancing off the calories consumed to the sounds of Wheelz, a fantastic band, who not only donated their time free of charge, but paid the cost of the hall hire for us and on top of that, and to our complete surprise, decided to make the Amy May Trust one of the beneficiaries of their fund raising. On the night Wheelz presented loria Chardin (Amy's aunt) with a cheque for £1,000. This was in addition to the £1,200 raised by Inner Wheel from ticket sales and a raffle.

We were delighted to have raised such a fantastic sum of money for the Trust and would like to thank everyone who attended for their generosity, as well as those who could not attend who made donations.

Lisa Craske and Linda Lambert at Just Nails Studio in Thundersley Village organised an impressive raffle which proved to be an extremely successful fundraiser and these lovely ladies were instrumental in rallying support for The Trust during the annual Village Christmas Festival which took place as dusk fell on December 21st, there was a great local turnout which produced a wonderful atmosphere full of festive cheer. Generous contributions and support was also received from Castle Optician’s, Hairways hair salon, Hart Pet Supplies and Hunt Roche Estate Agents.

The Bread and Cheese restaurant in Benfleet made The Amy May Trust the focus of a month of fundraising with a generous raffle taking place immediately prior to Christmas. Our grateful thanks to Katie and her family for their support at what was an extremely busy period for them.

Every contribution received by The Amy May Trust, however big or small is helping Amy to continue with her extensive programme of therapy, and allowing the purchase of the medical needs and equipment that are enhancing her life and allowing her to make the progress that she is. For this, we are forever grateful. Thank you.
