Our target was £3000 and we have smashed it, all thanks to the efforts and participation of the Amy May Trust Fund Runners and donations. For all those that registered and took part in aid of Amy, thank you.

For all those that have donated so generously to the trust, thank you.

We all enjoyed the race, despite some of us never having run that distance before, we all did Amy proud. Well done everyone, some fantastic times shown!

I am so pleased with the funds we have raised and it shows just how beneficial these events are, we are already arranging next years fund raiser!

A huge thank you to everyone again, and your generosity.

Last Sunday posed quite a challenge – a 10km run along Southend and surrounding areas with the sun beating down. I thought I was ready for it and I had trained but there were definitely some testing times.

Those last 3km were blooming hard. Even worse the final stretch. Somehow I became Mo Farah! It didn’t occur to me to stop. I know how strong, brave, determined and relentless Amy is. She kept me going. But also the knowledge of her thinking “You lot are mental”.

With a massive smile on my face I crossed the finish line and felt the biggest sense of relief but most importantly huge achievement, success and victory.

I was doing this for Amy and that was all that mattered. Myself, Ellie, Emma, Adele and Adam regrouped at the end and were all over the moon to have completed this for our beautiful friend Amy.

Once we had caught our breath we called Roger to speak with Amy about our crazy, energetic morning. We all had a bit of a laugh and joke. But the best bit, Amy saying “Thank You”. What a great day for an amazing lady.
